A trip to Milan and Lake Como

Ah, summer in Milan! The sun-soaked streets, the gelato stands on every corner, and the stunning architecture that stops you to take a picture every time. I have been wanting to visit Milan as it is a city that blends old-world charm with a modern edge, making it the perfect summer destination. But on this trip, we decided to escape the city for a day and head to Lake Como because no trip to Milan is complete without a visit to Lake Como.

My trip to Italy was at the height of the summer which meant there were many tourists around but thankfully Lake Como is only a short train ride away.

As the train approached the picturesque town of Como, we were greeted with the sight of sparkling waters and lush green mountains.

We chose to explore the town of Bellagio, often referred to as the "Pearl of the Lake." Its cobbled streets are adorned with colourful flowers, and you can't help but feel like you're in a postcard. We strolled along the lakefront promenade taking in the mesmerising scenery.

A trip to Starbucks Reserve Milano Roastery was a must. It is in a historical building with beautiful Italian style and architecture that feels both modern and classic. This was my first time visiting a Starbucks Reserve and would love to visit the others around the world. There was an incredible selection of pastries and different coffee drinks to try.

Milan's architecture, with its timeless beauty and vibrant atmosphere, is truly captivating. But for those who want a relaxing time in nature and a slower pace, the city of Como is just a short journey away. Whether you're a culture enthusiast or a nature lover, Milan and Lake Como offer the best of both worlds.
